Wayne grew up on a farm near Cuba, KS and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1976. He attended Cloud County Community College, Kansas State, and Oklahoma State with a BS degree in Accounting and Management. He worked in various accounting roles from January 1982 in Ponca City, Houston, and Bartlesville, until retirement in November 2021.

Wayne joined the Tuxedo Lions Club in 2012 resulting from a long-standing invitation by his father-in-law. Tuxedo Lions Club merged into the Bartlesville Club in 2019. He has served as Tail Twister, 1st Vice President, President, and Lion Tamer at the Club level. He has served as OKMD3-E Cabinet Treasurer at the District level. His wife Marla is also a Bartlesville Lions club member.

In addition to Lions activities, He is a member of East Cross Methodist Church in Bartlesville. He and Marla have 3 grown children and 5 grandsons that they enjoy spending time with. 

Interesting Fact: He auditioned for and was selected to play in the Kansas Lions State & International Bands while in high school in 1975. He played the baritone and the Cuba Lions Club was his sponsor. The State band performed a concert at the state convention in Overland Park, KS in May. The Lions international band marched in the international parade in Dallas, TX in June!
